Name: Meredith Blithe
Nickname: Merry
Birthdate: July 29, 1981
Age: 27
Height: 5'4"
Weight: 126 lbs.
Birthplace: Harcourt, South Dakota
Ethnicity: Scot-Irish
Gender: Female
Sexual Preference: Bisexual
Physical
Predominant Feature: Large horn-rimmed tortoise shell glasses perched upon a somewhat unflatteringly wide nose.
Hair: Honeyed brown locks, of varying lengths and tucked messily into a bun at the nape of her neck. Wispy strands continually escape to hang (to her everlasting consternation) in front of her eyes. When unbound, it will fall in unpredictable waves from shoulder to mid-waist. Fortunately easy to care for, if a bit unruly at times, Merry is content to merely pin it out of her way with any spare pencil that may be at hand.
Eyes: As her father often laughingly said, her eyes were as stormy a blue as the sea in a Nor'Easter. Honestly she personally thought them to be a rather dull gray. More often then not however, they are hidden behind the thick lenses and wide frames of her glasses and multiple strands of hair that escapes capture.
Facial: Bearing true to her European heritage, the classic lines of her Scot-Irish lineage are easily distinct. High cheekbones and a sharply defined jawline gives her face character. Or so she would like to think. A thin cupid's bow mouth sits tidily below her nose. Which is a bit too wide to be attractive in her own opinion. Well, at least her glasses never fall off.
Skin: "Pale as the waning moon hanging low in western sky." Utter balderdash. Pasty is as pasty does. When others delight in telling her how wonderfully fair she is, a rather unladylike snort is issued along with these words. "Try being outdoors in the sun for twenty minutes. Fair? Fairly well burnt you mean!"
Distinguishing Marks: Aside from the lone beauty mark on her left collarbone, the back of her neck and shoulders have a good scattering of fairy kisses as her ancestors called them. A sign of good luck in those long past ancient days. Freckles, they are more commonly known as nowadays, and a painful reminder to never go without sunscreen if one is going to be gardening without shade for more than an hour.
Body: Slimly built, without being too gangly or coltish in appearance. All long limbs attached to a narrow trunk. No, she will never be called graceful, all elbows and knees as she is. Yet even so, there is lanky smoothness to her gait. As if a yearling filly is just settling into her stride.
Clothing: Merry is a tad thin-blooded, even having been raised in the north. Subsequently she often dresses for warmth rather than fashion. Starched cotton blouses are most often nearly invisible below a woolen cardigan or buried beneath her favorite lambskin jacket with it's mink ruff. (Inherited from her mother, she would never purchase such an extravagance on her own!)
Accessories: Not one to care overly much for any sort of finery, the only piece of jewelery Merry wears is a short length of slim golden chain. Adorning it is the one charm she will never take off, St. Jude, the Patron Saint of Lost Causes. Although not religious herself, her own dear mother was a devout Catholic. It was given to her when she was going through that awkward period of growth most younglings have, where whatever grace they had once possessed disappears in a blazing glory of klutziness.
Voice: Mellow, some would call it. Full of unseen smiles and relaxed warmth. Not particularly low or high pitched, but about the range of a high alto or a rather low soprano. Don't ask her to sing though, whether she has a decent voice or no, it's too embarrassing to perform in front of others. No, for her, singing is solely restricted to the sanctuary of her shower walls. Which, of course, always give her rave reviews.
